Gracie Fallowfield
Gracie graduated from Hereford College of Arts in 2009 with a degree in Contemporary Applied Arts. Although this degree explored various materials, it was small metals and jewellery that she was drawn to the most. After a trip to New York in her final year, she realised her love of architecture, urban surroundings and the repetitive nature of windows and buildings and these themes are often featured in pieces.Gracie uses silver, gold and gemstones, particularly enjoying the steel greys of silver against the rich golden tones that remind her of that New York environment so much. She is purposefully drawn to using gemstones with inclusions as she feels it gives them much more of a unique character irrespective of value. Gracie particularly enjoys the handmade process, working from grain to forge wire and sheet to make forms.
She has exhibited at the Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair as well as Craft Festival in Cheltenham and Bovey Tracey. She is also a Visiting Tutor at Birmingham School of Jewellery.

Ruth Dodwell
Ruth started her working career in events, marketing and training, but her journey into silversmithing began when she enrolled in a class as a creative hobby. She quickly developed a passion for the craft, which led her to create her own business focused on designing and selling contemporary jewellery.
Recently she worked at Bringsty Art Studio where she taught introductory classes in silversmithing and jewellery-making for beginners. Over the course of three years, she helped students build their skills and confidence. After an accident last year Rugh chose to refocus on her business for a while.
You may also recognise her her as one of our Magpies! In addition to teaching Ruth is also an important part of our marketing team at Elmslie, where she helps to organise the popular Blue Magpie Craft Fairs (and you'll see her exhibiting at them too!)
Now she is excited to return to teaching at Elmslie, where she will run a beginners class. Ruth's jewellery can be found under her brand, 76 Silver, available in various galleries and shops throughout the UK. Each piece highlights her craftsmanship and commitment to quality.
