ELMSLIE SINGERS
The Elmslie Singers formed over lockdown in response to the pandemic and the ban on singing in larger choirs, two groups of six singers were first created. . .
Along the way, our director Lynne Lindner lost one of the founding members, her beloved husband Stephen to cancer, and thereafter much solace was found by all of us in music and continuing to come together to sing and to affirm and celebrate life.
Our first concert was performed at Elmslie House in June 2021. We have since performed at Castlemorton Church and Malvern Priory - and plan to do more, but intend always to bring a concert of varied and contrasting choral pieces - a cappella and accompanied. From the romantic partsongs of Brahms to the beautiful modernity of Jussi Chydenius, by way of Kings Singers' arrangements of the Beatles, and songs from Burns to Michel Legrand.
More concert dates (not all to be hosted at Elmslie) will be found here, as and when they are confirmed.
Our members are:
Soprano 1 Saska Ingham, Lara Maylor-Wrought, Giselle Pearson
Soprano 2 Vicky Henderson, Lynne Lindner
Alto Lara Bienkowska, Sue Lupton, Anna Taylor
Tenor Bryan Husband, Iain Sloane
Bass Malcolm Mcleod
And we are accompanied by the wonderful and unflappable, Tim Sidford.
