Elmslie House is situated on the corner of Avenue Road and Albert Road South.
There is usually free parking available on both these roads or adjacent roads - but not in the driveway itself as this is used by Elmslie’s owners and needs to be kept clear at all times.
The main entrance to the house is on Avenue Road - which is marked with two stone pillars:
Once you have found the house, you are looking to walk down between the two pillars - towards the bottom of the drive/garden.
There are a few doors to choose from, so here’s a quick guide to finding the right one!
As you walk down the drive you will first walk past two round porthole windows and a door on the left hand side which is signed as ‘Elmslie House - HALL’. You do not want this door.
As you continue walking, you’ll walk past a room set back with lots of gothic arched windows and then you’ll come to a very large wooden door with a stone entrance. You don’t want this door either - this is the private entrance to our home.
However - just continue a little further on and you’ll see an A-board with an arrow next to a stone bollard with a light on it.
If you turn into this corner, you’ll see a third - hidden - door with an arrow on it directing you into the house, down to Elgar, Lawnside & Shaw rooms on the lower ground floor. THIS IS THE DOOR YOU WANT!
Continue down the stairs - and you’ll find yourself in a hallway.
We have coat stands here and tea/coffee and breakfast muffins will be available on your left in SHAW, which is also where you’ll be having lunch.
Your workshop you will be in LAWNSIDE which is the room in front of you to the left of the kitchen.
If you have any mobility issues and would prefer to avoid a flight of stairs - please do let me know on 07789 470780 and I will arrange separate access via the garden/kitchen!
Happy crafting!
Parking There is usually free parking available on both these roads or adjacent roads - but not in the driveway itself as this is used by Elmslie’s owners and needs to be kept clear at all times.
If you park on Albert Road South the black gate you see is generally only opened to allow disabled access via the garden - so you need to walk around the corner to find the main entrance off Avenue Road - which is marked with two stone pillars.
