Present Tense: Eternal storylines told by the work of three artists.

  • 8 Avenue Road Elmslie House Malvern United Kingdom (map)

Sculptures and paintings on show in a weekend exhibition, bringing a contemporary feel to classic narratives.

This weekend exhibition at Elmslie House brings together three artists whose practices give contemporary form to timeless narratives.

Charlotte Hern shows bronze and plaster sculptures inspired by Greek mythology, where her sensitivity to texture and form captures the enduring presence of classical archetypes. Catherine Martin unveils her large-scale figurative paintings for the first time, rich in human presence and emotional resonance. Sevin Fortier presents multidisciplinary work in ceramics, painting, and drawing that explores feminine identity, spiritual uncertainty, and the tension between human figures and otherworldly beings.

Together, their work creates a dialogue between sculpture and painting, myth and identity—offering fresh expressions of eternal storylines in the present tense.
