Christina Alden & Alex Patterson

  • 8 Avenue Road Elmslie House Malvern United Kingdom (map)

Let me introduce you to one of the loveliest couples you will ever have the good fortune to meet . .. Christina and Alex.

They first came here as a Trio, with Noel Dashwood - way back in the day when Elmslie House was starting off and we hosted a few more Folk Acts on a more regular basis.

Over time - and as a result of not only Lockdown, but with other local venues like The Cube, doing more of this sort of music these days, we’ve sort of drifted away from these evenings into more Classical territory, but sometimes, there are just some Acts that get under your skin and their songs become ear-worms that you can’t un-hear or un-know.

These are the contemporary songwriters that make you excited about British Folk Music in 2025, and increasingly they are also being recognised - not only by the Radio stations but also by their growing number of fans up and down the country as now carrying on this tradition with beautifully crafted songs, gorgeous vocal and instrumental harmonies and - well, you really just need to be in the room to know! Here’s your chance - just take a listen to one of these . . .though I believe a new album is being toured atm.

Doors will open at 7.00pm for 7.30pm and tickets are £14.00 - available here:

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson

Christina Alden & Alex Patterson are multi-instrumentalists and songwriters from Norwich. Their music is rich with intertwining harmony, sensitive accomplished musicianship and a creative song-writing style that is both delicate and moving. Deeply inspired by the world around them, they have a keen environmental eye to craft stories with the natural world at its heart, reflecting on the relationship between humans and the wild.

They have enjoyed touring extensively in the UK and Europe; including a twenty- three-date concert hall tour with Show of Hands (including Union Chapel and St David’s Hall Cardiff), a show at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections, headline and main stage performances at some of the UK’s most prestigious folk festivals and performances in Norway, Belgium, France and Ireland. They have written and self-released four albums, composed music for a BBC Radio 4 documentary series and have had over a million streams on Spotify.
