We may be in lockdown (again) but the Blue Magpie team is in full flow, planning the next Contemporary Craft Fair. With all the uncertainty surrounding when lockdown might end and restrictions are lifted, the first Blue Magpie fair of 2021 has been moved from March, to May.
In celebration of being able to go out and about again after lockdown (fingers crossed), we’re planning a May Bank Holiday extravaganza – on Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd May. Plans are afoot to extend the fair into the garden, with live music, more makers and a larger space to enjoy Blue Magpie’s famous collection of cakes in the open air. Parts of the garden that are usually closed to visitors will be open for everyone to enjoy.
Maker applications for the May fair are open now, until Monday 22nd February and we’d love as many makers as possible to apply – both familiar faces and emerging new talent. If you’ve ever wanted to be a part of the Blue Magpie family, why wait any longer? More details and the online application form can be found here.
Little did we know that December’s Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fair would be the last event at Elmslie House for a while. It was an amazing three days of craft, with a good number of visitors. The new one-way system worked well and the ‘Cake Away’ alternative to the much-loved tearoom was a big success. Makers enjoyed seeing lots of people, who were out and about doing their Christmas shopping…and just enjoying being out!
