With the evenings drawing in, the air becoming cooler and the leaves changing colour on the trees, the team at Elmslie House are in full swing planning and preparing for the next Blue Magpie Contemporary Craft Fair.
Many bigger events and fairs have been cancelled this year, so we’re making sure November’s Contemporary Craft Fair is something special. Over 38 makers will be joining us both in person (subject to no more lockdowns) and online.
Anna’s legendary cakes are a big part of the Blue Magpie Fairs and we’re thrilled that the much-loved tearooms will be relocated outside, in a Christmas market style affair called the ‘Cake-Away’. There’ll be mince pies and mulled wine too, so visitors will feel well and truly toasty – and festive!
To keep everyone safe, visitor numbers will be limited, social distancing will be observed and a new one-way system will be in place around the house. There’ll be plenty of hand sanitiser for everyone to use too.
We’re all used to wearing a face mask, but to make it more fun, we’ll be holding a daily competition on Instagram to find the best and most colourful ones!
Entry is £3 for adults and free for children under 16. Not only does the entrance fee mean fair goers can visit as many times as they like over the 3 days of the fair, it also entitles them to enter the raffle, with amazing prizes from our makers up for grabs.
For the first time, there will be an online Blue Magpie directory and an e-catalogue (which will be available to everyone who visits the fair).
