|It’s been a really tough year for creatives. So many larger established craft events and selling opportunities throughout this calendar year have simply – vanished. So, the Team at Blue Magpie decided early on that it was even *more* important to find creative solutions to bring you a Christmas Blue Magpie – like no other!|
We’ve been working hard on devising new ways to deliver Blue Magpie in a way that keeps both staff, makers and visitors alike safe and in-line with Best Practice for venues. Rest assured that we are monitoring government guidance on a daily basis, and we will respond accordingly should the situation change. However, as it stands, these measures currently include:
A new one-way system
Hand sanitiser on arrival
Check in via the NHS Track & Trace App QR code
Observing social distancing measures by:
Limiting the number of makers exhibiting at the house
Limiting the number of visitors in the house at any one time
For those makers we couldn’t physically accommodate at the house this year (due to reducing numbers), we’re also moving Blue Magpie online – with both a maker directory on the website but also creating an e-catalogue, which we can e-mail direct to you.
This means you’ll have everyone’s details to hand, and you can then click through to their websites and online shops from the comfort of your home.
In addition, we are also Encouraging everyone to wear face coverings – we’re even going to be having a daily competition on Instagram to find the best and most colourful ones!
Using the ground floor bar for additional makers and moving the café areas outside.
Creating a Christmas Market grotto where we’ll be selling mulled wine and mince pies.
A ‘Cake-Away’ – a serving hatch from the previous café area on the lower ground floor.
This means that you’ll still be able to have cake – AND – eat it – but perhaps not inside as before – but in the garden, or even at home
The new one-way system will mean that the garden is your exit point.
Due to increased costs we’ve increased the entry to £3 for Adults. Children under 16 are still free – but you still have the opportunity to win raffles prizes donated by exhibiting makers and the best selection of local craft that you’ll see in a non-virtual format this year!
Additionally, the wristband you receive on arrival will allow you back as many times as you wish over the duration of the Fair.
Due to needing to restrict numbers at any given time, we’ve compensated for this by extending the Fair for an additional day. This means you’ve got more opportunity to come back to see the daily changing line-ups.
We have 24 makers per day – but in total 38 exhibiting over the 3 days
