The Very Grimm Brothers and SassCappella – Saturday 30th March, 7.30pm

Words & music from The Very Grimm Brothers Adrian Mealing + John Denton (gtr)  –  the only thing that cheers them up is you. You’re invited to their enchanted forest and encounters with direct action, that side gate, that sharp exit, gingerbread, the poetry of platforms, families, friends, birthdays, marmalade, undimmed love and the spinning of gold from straw. ‘middle-class rap’ William Coleman

Adrian is a Malvern Poetry Slam Champ. He also sings à cappella with Men In General, A Fistful of Spookies and The Spooky Men’s Chorale (Aus). John wears several musical hats including his John Denton’s Midnight Band hat.

“It’s a very chatty, tangential gig. And Grimm John just bought a Martin D28 Re-imagined acoustic gtr. I don’t know where he finds the money,” complains Grimm Adrian.

Appearances alongside the Peatbog Faeries, Attila, John Hegley, Elvis McGonagall, Johnny Fluffypunk and Roger McGough, shows at Bang Said The Gun, PureandGoodandRight, Platform 1, Swindon Poetry Festival, Stratford upon Avon Litfest, Worcs Literary Festival, Wolds Words, Mouth & Music, Speakeasy, the legendary Blue Suede Sporran Club and now in the intimate setting of Elmslie House on Saturday 30th March at 7.30pm. Tickets from, Malvern Tourist Information, and Carnival Records

Plus the amazing SassCappella, the 3 piece à cappella band of Gwen Woodfield, Marie-Therese King & Janet Neate who love singing! With a set that includes Chattanooga Choo Choo right through to a few of their own original pieces about life. “We have been singing and laughing together for 3 years now and have a combined height of 21’ 4” and combined age of 84 (in our dreams!),” says Gwen. ‘A slick evening’s entertainment, highly recommended’ Chris Jaeger MBE, Worcester Live
