MadGiraffeAtlanticRow – Friday 8th March at 7.00pm

An inspirational talk with Q&A by John Davidson, former SAS soldier, who is rowing the Atlantic solo to raise funds for MND.

It’s not often that you meet someone who has such an incredible life story to tell it is better than most fiction books. But I’ve never met anyone who can offer this AND who has a Great Adventure on the horizon which will no doubt produce yet more inspirational stories.

Over the course of the evening you will laugh, wince and be astonished at some of the situations John has found himself in over a lifetime. There will be a Q&A afterwards plus a free glass of wine kindly donated by John and Cathie at Lovells Vineyard.

John will cover his military career as Special Forces soldier, including the SAS and as a bodyguard working in war zones and other hostile environments, talking to terrorists, negotiating the release of hostages, surviving a parachute accident, being shot down in a helicopter and plane, saving lives, and importantly, rowing the sea for MND. John’s inspiration to row the Atlantic solo comes from his interactions with the legendary and inspiring Doddie Weir; former Scottish rugby player diagnosed with MND. John’s aim is to raise awareness and as much money as possible to help Doddie’s Foundation find a cure for this disease.

All of the proceeds from ticket sales will go towards the Atlantic Row and raising funds for MND. Tickets are £14.00 to include a glass of Lovell’s wine, who, together with Elmslie House are sponsoring this event to ensure all the ticket money can support John’s efforts to row the Atlantic!
